Iron Chef - Recap

The 7th Annual IRON CHEF is in the books (almost). I would like to thank the adults who helped, the sponsors, our adventurous panel of judges, the spectators who added to the excitement and most of all THE SCOUTS! It would have been easy to fry a hot dog and dump a cobbler... it was absolutely NOT easy to make Red Snapper with mango salsa cooked in corn husks... it was NOT easy to pull a patrol together to cook fried chicken... it was NOT easy for an 11 or 12 or 13 year old to contribute to a meal with 3 secret ingredients that were “outside the box”. I agree with Randy’s comments [see email from 10/10/12] that these type of events, as well as everything else we do, are to help the boys accomplish challenges, demonstrate leadership and teamwork, and (as cliché as it sounds) build character. To all, I want to say GREAT JOB, AND GREAT EATING.
