Parents Meeting. We will have a parents meeting on Monday, April 29 during the troop meeting. We will start at 7:40 pm in a classroom in the Education Building of the church across the street. (I will let you know the room number.) We will go over forms, process, what your scout should (and should not) bring to summer camp, merit badge class selection, and other issues. Please bring your questions. I would like for at least one parent from each family to attend.
Diet and Medicine. Right now I have received responses telling me one scout has special dietary needs and two scouts need medicine blister packs. I am going to request the blister packs on Monday. If you have not already done so, please let me know if your scout has special dietary needs or will be taking medication at summer camp.
SPL and ASPL. If your scout is has already been to summer camp one or two years, please ask him if he would like to be the senior patrol leader (SPL) or assistant senior patrol leader (ASPL). If he is interested, please have him send me an email. The adult summer camp leaders will select the SPL and ASPL in early May. This is a good leadership opportunity.
Medical Forms and Insurance Cards. Please remember to send your scout's completed BSA medical form and a copy of your insurance card/information to Greg LeBlanc by May 15. (You may work out reasonable extensions of time with Greg.) The adult leaders attending camp will need to turn in a completed medical form as well.
Adults Attending Powhatan. The adults I believe are attending Powhatan base camp are Kevin Woods, Walter Linker, Robert Lambert, David Belk and me. Some of those folks may not be able to attend the entire week. If you are interested in attending part of the week, please let me know. I would like to have five adults in camp each day.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
